FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
Yes - in an effort to avoid cancellations and rescheduling, I require a $50 non-refundable deposit to book your session. The remainder of the session fee is due 5 days before the scheduled session. For weddings, however, half of the balance is due upon booking and the remaining balance is due at least three weeks prior to the event date.
HOW DOES THE BOOKING PROCESS WORK?
The booking process is simple and painless. After we have chatted, seen we're a good fit together, and you'd like to proceed with securing your date, I will send you a contract and an invoice. After the contract is signed, you will be invoiced for the deposit. To book a session, message or email me to get started!
WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE?
I tend to focus on a documentary and authentic style to capture real photos rather than stiff posed photos that can often feel fake - but that doesn’t mean that I don’t “pose” you! I do it in a way that makes you feel comfortable and brings out real emotion, individuality, and documents your story in an authentic way.
DO YOU OFFER VIDEOGRAPHY AS WELL?
At this time, my focus is only in photography. However, I do work with an amazing local videographer and we're more than happy to bundle a package for you in order to save you time and costs.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
Yes - I love to travel! If you want me to photograph your story outside of Phoenix, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. But no worries, I always try to find the cheapest way to come as I don't want that to be a deal breaker for you.
DO YOU CHARGE TRAVEL FEES?
Yes - but for any locations within the Phoenix area within a 25 mile radius of my home, there are no travel charges. If your desired location is outside of that, I do have a flat fee based on mileage. This is all dependent on where your location is in proximity to where I live.
WHEN WILL WE GET OUR PHOTOS?
Your will receive an online gallery link via email with all your fully edited high resolution images within maximum 3 weeks (sometimes less depending on current workload). You can download all the photos from the gallery and also share them, choose your favorites, and also order prints!
HOW MANY PICTURES WILL WE RECEIVE?
I don't ever set a limit on the amount of images I deliver. What I capture is what you will get - minus the "bad" shots of course (blurry, eyes closed, etc). I always choose quality rather than quantity and that's why you will always receive the best and most significant photos to tell your story. For portrait and couples sessions, you can expect anywhere between 25-100+ images. Weddings can range from 150-800+ depending on the coverage.
DO YOU COVER OTHER TYPE OF EVENTS NOT LISTED HERE AS WELL? IF SO, WHAT DO YOU CHARGE?
I do! Other events can include anything from birthday parties, family gatherings, baptisms, to even a real estate listing. Pricing will vary depending on the type of event and coverage needed, so shoot me a message and we can discuss your needs further.
DO YOU TOUCH UP ALL THE IMAGES YOU DELIVER?
Yes I do. Every image I deliver is edited with my own style of post-production. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections.
WHO DO YOU USE AS A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
I have several colleagues that I collaborate with and I'm more than happy to share with you their information! You may choose which photographer you'd like me to bring along on your special day, but ultimately the decision will be made based on their availability.
DO I REALLY NEED A SECOND SHOOTER FOR MY WEDDING?
There are a couple of things that factor into this. It all boils down to preference, but many folks like to have multiple angles from their ceremony and other big moments throughout the day. The second photographer is also a built in back up for me. But, I shoot solo often and am perfectly comfortable doing so!
I'M CAMERA SHY. HOW WILL I KEEP FROM LOOKING SUPER AWKWARD?
I'll be honest, I am super awkward in front of a camera too. The best thing you can do is be open and willing to try! I'll give you different queues that will make you feel more comfortable versus just posing for photos. I always do my best to make it a fun experience and won't be nearly as bad as you think it'll be!
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I shoot with a Nikon Z6 and Z6II, using a variety of prime and zoom lenses. I also use Godox speedlites and strobes, as well as other lighting gear. I edit with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop on a beefed-out MacBook Pro. I aim to shoot with some of the highest end professional equipment to better serve you!
WHAT IF YOU'VE NEVER SHOT AT MY VENUE BEFORE?
Don't let this worry you! Whatever photographer you hire should be someone who can take beautiful photos no matter what the circumstance. That being said, I always do a lot of research before shooting at a new venue and often take some time to visit and explore ahead of time!
WHAT RIGHTS DO I HAVE TO THE DIGITAL PRINTS?
You have the right to reprint images whenever you want. However, you may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without the written consent of Gtrz Photography.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GALLERIES YOU OFFER?
All packages include a downloadable gallery but only some include an additional personalized mobile app gallery. Downloadable galleries allow you to access, view, and download your pictures. A mobile app gallery is a digital photo album that is installed on your mobile device to view and share with others - you cannot download images from an app and do not need internet connection to use it.
DO YOU PROVIDE THE RAW, UNEDITED FILES?
Each session comes with a full resolution image download. However, I typically do not provide RAW (unprocessed) files from shoots because I believe in delivering a finished product. In fact, I'm often shooting with the end (post-produced) product in mind.
ARE THERE ANY TAXES?
Yes, Arizona (8.6%) taxes will be added to your subtotal and will reflect in your total on your invoice.
